How does the founding-member offer work?
The first 100 customers on any paid plan automatically get 40% off forever, your rate never changes, even as we update list pricing. The founding discount stacks with the cycle discount, so a founding annual subscription pays roughly 55% off list. No coupon code, no claim button. Once the first 100 spots are filled, new customers automatically see regular pricing.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel anytime. After cancellation you keep access until the end of the current billing cycle (month, quarter, or year, whichever you chose). The subscription does not renew once cancelled.
Do you offer refunds?
Cancellation stops your next renewal. The current cycle is not refunded. That is why the Free tier exists. Try Phantom on a real draft before you pay.
Do unused words accumulate?
No. Your monthly word allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle. Unused words from the previous month do not carry over.
What if I run out of words mid-cycle?
Upgrade to the next tier, the upgrade takes effect immediately and you get the new allowance pro-rated for the remainder of your cycle. Or wait for the next cycle reset.
Why is Pro the most popular tier?
Pro unlocks the full Phantom v1.0 pipeline (Light, Standard, and Strong modes) and lets you train Phantom on your own voice, paste 2-3 paragraphs of your writing and Phantom matches your style. For anyone writing more than occasionally, this is the feature that turns Phantom output into something that reads as truly yours.
Do you offer a free trial?
The Free tier is the trial, 5 rewrites a day, no sign-up, no card, no time limit. It runs on the same Phantom v1.0 engine as the paid tiers (Standard mode).
Is my text private?
Yes. We do not store rewrite inputs or outputs. Text is processed by Phantom in memory and discarded immediately after the response is returned. Voice samples (when you train Phantom on your voice) are processed inline and not persisted either.
Does this work for academic or commercial use?
Yes for commercial use, that is what Pro and Business are designed for. Academic use is allowed for editing your own AI-assisted drafts, but we do not support submitting AI-rewritten work as if it were originally human-written when an institution requires disclosure. Who handles billing?
Dodo Payments, as Merchant of Record. They handle VAT/sales tax in the EU and 90+ countries, and the receipt comes from Dodo Payments. Your card details never touch our servers.
